John F. Sweeden, is a co-founder of Five Star Advisor Partners, L.L.C.. He started his career in financial services with H.D. Vest in April of 1987. John holds numerous professional licenses in multiple states. Among them are the FINRA Series 7, 63, 4, 24, 53 and 65. He holds a Texas Life, Accident, Health, HMO and Property & Casualty License. Prior to starting his private practice as a Financial Advisor in 1998, John was a member of the Executive Management Team at HD Vest where he was responsible for Competitive Intelligence, Operations Analysis and Quality Assurance.

John’s area of focus is working with individuals and businsses to meet their financial goals through a variety of tools including managed accounts, mutual funds, life insurance, home, auto and business insurance and home mortgages. John’s background includes experience in business valuation and mergers & acquisitions, which he utilizes in support of his client base.

John holds a Bachelor of Music Performance degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. John and his family are members of the First Baptist Church of Richardson, Texas.

John served 14 years as a elected official on the Richardson City Council in Richardson. He plays saxophone with the Dallas Winds and the Texas Saxophone Quartet. John is married to Kellie and they have three children, Hannah, Robin and Olivia.
